Synology recently wrapped up its Solution Day 2024 event in Singapore, drawing strong attendance from the local IT community. Attendees gathered to explore Synology’s latest advancements in data management, protection, business tools, and surveillance technology.
The event showcased various products, including the ActiveProtect series, which offers a user-friendly interface for managing up to 2,500 servers across multiple locations. This solution provides data immutability and retention policies to safeguard businesses against ransomware attacks.
Synology also introduced its Scale-out Solution for seamless file and object storage management, along with C2 Surveillance Station, a cloud-based video monitoring system featuring AI capabilities and robust security measures.
The company unveiled updates to its Office Suite, incorporating AI features to enhance teamwork and streamline document processes across departments.
Antoine Yang, Synology’s Singapore Country Manager, noted significant growth in the company’s business solutions regionally, stating:

The event included a panel discussion where IT leaders from organizations like LASALLE College of Arts and I Love Taimei shared their experiences with Synology’s products. Gan Gay Hiong from LASALLE praised Synology’s comprehensive storage systems for meeting the institution’s data management needs, including handling large digital archives and 4K video storage.
Yadah Yang from I Love Taimei discussed how Synology’s Surveillance Station platform enabled efficient multi-site surveillance management for their 17 stores in addition to topics related to the company leveraging AI-powered analytics for business insights.
“Synology’s Surveillance Station is an excellent platform that made multi-site surveillance management easier than ever. Centralized Management System (CMS) allowed us to manage all footage of all 17 stores from multiple servers on a single portal. With the use of DVA series, we are able extend storage capabilities to explore more advanced AI-powered analytics such as people-counting to generate business insights.”
In general, both panelists offered advice for businesses facing similar challenges, emphasizing the importance of scalable, integrated solutions.
