Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, took the stage at CES 2025 and unveiled the new GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs. Surprisingly, NVIDIA is announcing a total of 4 GPUs all at one go, alongside the prices.
- RTX 5090 at $1,999
- RTX 5080 at $999
- RTX 5070 Ti at $749
- RTX 5070 at $549
Each of these GPUs are rated at or more than a thousand AI TOPS – and of course, it will have a heavy emphasis on AI. NVIDIA showcased a real-time generation of a beautiful scene with ray-tracing, running on DLSS 4.
As for the GPU itself, the founders editions look more or less the same as before when viewed from the outside. It’s still impressive that NVIDIA managed to stuff in the entire PCB with all of those bulky components into such a small package.
One big notable highlight is the use of GDDR7 memory with 1.81TB/s bandwidth. There were no VRAM amount mentioned – so we’ll have to wait for more information.
As for the GPU itself, NVIDIA retains a similar design when compared to the previous Founders Edition design. It will still have double flow-through fans, with the high-density PCB (which is surprisingly small compared to the entire GPU’s size) sandwiched between a massive 3D vapor chamber that spans across the entire GPU and heatsinks.
While not much details were shared, there was a scene that was showing off the RTX Neural Material – and it seems like some sort of material simulation with ray-tracing enabled. The fabric here just looks way more realistic than the traditional one.
