Acer Malaysia took the chance to give the local media some early preview and hands-on for the new products they have showcased at CES 2025 which is nice for us who didn’t have the chance to go all the way to Las Vegas.

First, we have the brand new Predator Helios 18 AI equipped with NVIDIA’s Blackwell family of GeForce RTX 50 series GPU for an absolutely crazy gaming experience of high resolution and buttery smooth gameplay.
The aesthetic and rainbow ooze game has been leveled up as well with a small light bar at the bottom left + brushed stripes at the bottom right while another long and big one sits on top of the back I/O section which creates a superior gaming battle station rivaled only by the brightest of Christmas trees.
To tame this brand new generation of power-hungry chips, Acer brought in the new 6th Gen AeroBlade 3D metal fans which are the thinnest in the world at just 0.05mm for an additional 20% airflow improvement on top of the liquid metal thermal grease and vector heat pipes working together to expel all the heat.
Aside from this 18-inch model, we also have the Helios 16 AI which is a smaller one and carries slightly different specifications which you can identify below:
- 18-inch mini-LED 4K (Helios 18) / 17-inch OLED 2560×1600 240Hz (Helios 16)
- Up to Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX
- Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU
- Up to 192GB DDR-6400 RAM
- Up to 6TB PCIe 5.0 SSD (Helios 18) / Up to 4TB PCIe 5.0 SSD (Helios 16)

Next, the Predator Helios Neos 16S AI is the new model in town for the family who plays a bit safe in terms of “fancy gamer elements” in exchange for a thinner and lighter frame compared to the Helios models above.
It also carries the latest Intel and NVIDIA parts with the GPU topping out at the RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU so there is no 5090 treatment for it, unfortunately.
- 16-inch OLED 2560×1600 240Hz
- Up to Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX
- Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU
- Up to 32GB DDR5-6400 RAM
- Up to 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD
- 76WHr Battery
- FHD IR Webcam

The standard Acer laptops also saw a refresh on the iconic Swift Go 16 AI and Swift Go 14 AI offering AMD’s new Ryzen AI 7 350 processor which is good news for fellow Team Red fans.
- Up to 16-inch/14-inch OLED 2880×1800
- Up to AMD Ryzen AI 7 350
- Up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM
- Up to 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD (Swift Go AI 16) / Up to 1TB PCIe 4.0 (Swift Go AI 14)
- QHD IR Camera, Windows Hello
In terms of aesthetics, it is still more or less identical to older models so there are no total facelifts here but we do notice the touchpad got an update. Previously, it was activated by touching a corner where virtual media buttons would show up for easy access. Now for this new generation, the virtual button is activated by swiping the “SWIFT” logo, and doing it again reveals the “2nd layer” for more toggles like webcam and microphone on/off among other things.

The Aspire 14 AI also got a light refresh too. From the surface not many updates aside from the change in internal hardware so yeah, it’s pretty mild but it’s okay for a machine designed to be simple.
- Up to 14-inch 1920×1200 OLED
- Up to Intel Core Ultra 7 258V
- Up to 64GB LPDDR5X RAM
- p to 1TB PCIe 4.0
- FHD IR Camera, Windows Hello

Lastly, the Aspire Vero 16 is all about achieving ESG goals together with Acer. Continuing the classic trend of using post-consumer recycled materials for its chassis, the cute little “mirrored” E and R button portrays a slightly different take serves as a simple accent towards an otherwise “boring” design.
- 16-inch 1920×1200 IPS
- Up to Intel Core Ultra 7 255H
- Up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM
- Up to 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD
- QHD Webcam, Windows Hello

For the rest of the items, we got the Nitro Arc B580 and B570 GPU offering 12GB and 10GB of VRAM respectively at an affordable price and that’s thanks to Intel’s GPU division, thus earning praises from reviewers across the world. Then, there’s a WiFi 7 dongle that, well, offers WiFi 7 connectivity to systems that don’t support it natively. And there’s the Connect M6E 5G mobile station which has been certified to work in more than 135 countries, offering up to 28 hours of usage and up to 20 devices at once.
